    It Cracks Me Up

    I often wonder why you are all complaining about the cost????

    Do we charge you anything?
    No.

    Admittedly, there are agencies out there that have a 'bums in seats' attitude, and will put anyone and everyone into a job indiscriminately but there are good ones out there too.

    It is more than a coincidence that more and more companies are using agencies nowadays and it increasingly looks like it is going to be the way forward.

    My Advice

    My advice is choose your agencies prudently and only pick ones who are advertising the jobs you want -  there’s no point registering somewhere just for the heck of it - we can't work miracles and we can't help everyone.

    I advice my candidates a maximum of four in any one city - the process is probably the same. You will eventually get sick of hearing the same thing over and over again.

    Finally it is your decision.

    Helping People

    I only help people who are willing to help themselves too.

    I am not prepared to spend an hour or more of my time registering someone, with them expecting to be handed a job on a platter. A lot of people who register with an agency, sit at home and wait to land themselves a job that they can start in immediately – let me tell you that ain’t gonna happen.

    Asking Questions

    We do need to know where you’ve been working, where you’ve been for interview because we do need to know where you are and where you’ve been – this is the kind of  time we spend sending CV’s to companies and we don’t want to be duplicating things.

    People may be seeing the worst in agencies, as there are too many preconceptions flying about: they don’t care, too expensive etc.

    Whatever happened to people who’ve had good experiences to relate?

    I’d bet on there being one or two out there.

    Be Wary

    Be wary of agencies who do ‘promise’ to get you a job, but I never do because you can’t ever guarantee a position will come about.

    I’m sure people have had bad experiences and things went wrong sometimes, but if anyone can let me know of a company with a 100% success rate let me know.

    Accidents happen – get over them and stop blaming us recruitment consultants for incidents which happen out of our hands.
